Ms. Catherine Swensen

Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

B.S. Degree in Elementary Education.

Engliish as a Second Language License.

Reading Recovery trained in early reading intervention.

This is my 14th year teaching in saint Paul Public Schools. I began my career as an ESL teacher then moved to TESOL for 3 years.

I worked for 3 years as a Reading Recovery teacher within the Title 1 program.

I have taught first grade for 8 years in a variety of school settings.

This past summer I completed Level 2 of Responsive Classroom training and am enjoying implenting the components in the classroom.

I really enjoy the student focus at The American Indian Magnet School along with the balanced literacy program.
